Oxford Botanic Garden
One of Britain’s oldest botanical gardens, this riverside haven was a favourite retreat for Tolkien, who loved its rare trees and quiet paths. The celebrated black pine often nicknamed the “Tolkien Tree”, along with other characterful specimens, clearly feed into the personality and presence of the Ents and the living woods of Middle-earth.
