About Me and Dragon Lore Tours
Our narrative driven approach transforms our tours into extraordinary journeys through time and legend.
Unlike more typical sightseeing tours, we provide profound insights into the hidden meanings behind landmarks, offering a deeper, more engaging exploration of each location’s cultural and mythical heritage.Transformative Tour experiences
Dragon Lore tours are described as transformative because they are designed to change how we see familiar places. Each route connects dots between events, symbols and stories, offering new lenses on histories you may have heard before.
When new understanding lands – or when a particular place stirs a feeling you didn’t expect – the journey becomes more than a visit; it becomes a quietly transformative experience.
The magic that inspires me
Becoming a tour guide was inspired by my frequent visits to ancient sites like Avebury and Uffington White Horse as a child.
Connecting me to the stories of the Dragons, Druids, Legends of King Arthur and the history of Alfred the great and many others.
It put me on a path to learn about the histories, myths, and legends, that are found in these and many other significant sites to be found on these lands.
Today I feel called to share what I continue to learn, because the wisdom in the history of these lands is as relevant as ever and deeply meaningful to our present time.”
Why Dragons?
The hill next to the Uffington White Horse is called Dragon Hill. Tradition says a dragon was slain there; two major ley lines are also said to cross on its summit. I kept returning to that spot as a child. Years later in London, I noticed the dragon again – this time as the emblem of the City, on guard at every boundary marker, on the coats of arms and buildings all over the Square Mile. An ancient symbol of power had become the public badge of one of the most influential financial centres on earth.
My first City of London Mystical & Dragons tour grew out of that realisation. It follows how the Dragon imagery runs from chalk figures and sacred mounds, through Roman Londinium and Knights Templar enclaves, into the modern institutions of finance and law.
What to expect on a Dragon Lore tour
The City tours are around 2.5 hours each. They are content‑rich, but there is always time for questions and discussion – often my favourite part of the tour.
Expect unique and original experiences, grounded in research, that culminate in rich narratives weaving history with the deeper insights of myth and symbols.
Groups are purposefully small so the tour feels more like a shared exploration than a lecture.
The driving tours unfold at a more leisurely pace and allow for deeper exploration of each place, and with plenty of time for conversation and reflection between stops.
Many of the sites on the itinerary are ones I’ve grown up visiting, so I share not only the history and myth but also a more personal relationship with the landscape.
Not Your Typical Tour
On all tours you’ll receive a post‑tour overview of the places visited, with maps, images and links to articles and to other resources– so you can keep following the trail in your own time.
Many guests describe the tours as insightful and “not like a typical tour”, which is why that phrase became the slogan.
I look forward to walking these stories with you.
